Transforming My Straw Bale Home into a Retreat Space

In the summer of 2025, I decided to take a leap and transform my cozy straw bale home into a small retreat and gathering space. Nestled on 20 acres of quiet, forested land, it felt like the perfect opportunity to create a haven where people could relax, connect, and recharge.

Alongside the main house, there are additional outbuildings designed for art and maker spaces, inviting creativity and hands-on projects to flourish or offer a quiet space to meditate and write. The expansive property also offers plenty of trails and open areas for walking, reflecting, and simply enjoying nature’s tranquility. With everything set up, this retreat is truly ready to welcome individuals seeking personal growth, quiet escape, or shared inspiration among like-minded people. Be sure to join the mailing list to get notices of upcoming events.

The space is still evolving but by next summer I hope to invite others to host their small gathering here as well as the events I decide to do.

My husband, Milt Lee, and I built this house from scratch. When we first came to the land there was lots of trash and emptiness. It was a labor of love for sure. To see a bit about this visit Our Straw Bale Adventure page.
